Hello and welcome to AIG! I am Ms. Garland and I am your child’s AIG teacher. This is my thirtieth year in the teaching profession and twenty-seventh year with Wake County Public Schools. My teaching experience consists of second grade, fifth grade, K-12 special education, intervention, and AIG. This is my thirteenth year teaching AIG at Sanford Creek. However, I have been teaching at Sanford Creek since the school opened in 2007.
I am a native North Carolinian. I grew up in the mountain region of our beautiful state. Hendersonville, just south of Asheville, is my home town. I have a Bachelors Degree from Western Carolina University in K-6 Education with a concentration in Reading (K-12), a Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from North Carolina State University (Yes, I am a life-long Tar Heel fan, but NC State did provide a great education), AIG certification from East Carolina University, and I am National Board Certified.
